Zambia’s Mampi Loves Cindy’s Music

Mampi at Hotel Africana during her press conference
Zambia’s RnB artiste Mampi Mukape of the Swiririri fame revealed on Tuesday morning during her first press conference at Hotel Africana that she would work with any Ugandan artiste. Mampi singled out former Blu3 singer Cindy Sanyu saying that she loves her music.

The Zambian star is currently at Hotel Africana which is also the venue for her performance on Valentine’s day. Mampi said that she has over 17 hit songs in Zambia. This put fears to rest for those who thought that she only had two songs; ‘Why’ and ‘Swiririri’ which are commonly played on Ugandan radio and TV stations.

Ragga Dee’s Version – Mampi was aware of Ragga Dee’s version of Swetietie and in her own words she says that she was not happy about it, but as Mampi, she long forgave Ragga Dee. However, the managers of her music could be looking at it differently and by the time of the press conference, she did not have the details of their course of action.

Sweririri Meaning – Mampi was tasked to explain what she sings about in the Zambian Swiririr song; she said that it means Sweet. She was referring to how sweet that moment is when a gal takes her clothes off for her man but after having it all, the man vanishes.

Mampi was quick to add that the song does not relate to her in any way because at the time of composing it, she was only two weeks with her man, much as that is not the man she is moving out with currently.

At the press conference, Mampi was in the company of one lady, Victoria and two queen dancers. The star jetted into the country yesterday and was happy to be in Kampala once again, thanking KT Promotions and Bobi Wine for the warm welcome at the airport. A convoy of over 14 cars, 10 bikes inclusive of a police bike and patrol car led the former Big Brother star to Hotel Africana.

Tickets for the show are on sale at Hotel Africana.
