Zabré: Donation of food and hygiene kits to internally displaced and vulnerable people

The Paglayiri Association of Zabré, in partnership with the Belgian NGO Solidagro, handed over this Monday, April 17, 2023 in Zabré, food and hygiene kits to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable people in the municipalities. of Zabre and Zoaga.

In a show of solidarity, the Paglayiri Association of Zabré, in partnership with the Belgian non-governmental organization Solidagro, delivered this Monday, April 17, 2023 at its headquarters in Zabré, food and hygiene kits to internally displaced persons (IDPs). ) and vulnerable people in the municipalities of Zabré and Zoaga.

The food donation consists mainly of corn flour, bags of rice, oil, soumbala and dried fish. Hygiene kits consist of soap, basins and mats. The total value of the gesture is estimated at nearly 6 million FCFA.

"This gesture is the contribution of the Paglayiri association and its partner Solidagro in response to the call from the authorities of our country inviting us to show our solidarity with internally displaced and vulnerable people, in these difficult times that the country is going through" informed the President of the Association.

In his opinion, the donation will contribute to alleviating the suffering of the populations in this difficult context of the country.

The representative of the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Zabré, Dieudonné Woba indicated that the 70 beneficiary households (about 700 people) are newly displaced people from the municipalities of Zabré and Zoaga as well as the most vulnerable populations of these localities.

Mr. Woba also thanked the donors while inviting other goodwill to follow suit.

The Country representative of the NGO SOLIDAGRO for Burkina Faso and Mali, Alain Touta Traoré, for his part, specified that his structure wants to give a strong meaning to this gesture.

“We cannot show solidarity when there are people who are displaced and who have absolutely nothing, who have lost everything and who find themselves totally destitute. We therefore wanted by this gesture to tell them that they are not alone. Our solidarity remains and will remain,” he said.

He also hoped that peace would return to Burkina Faso for the happiness of the people.

The spokesperson for the beneficiaries, Abdoulaye Pafadnam expressed his satisfaction to the donor for their gesture towards them.

As a reminder, the municipalities of Zabré and Zoaga register nearly 3000 internally displaced persons according to the social action service of Zabré
