Works minister names new road’s authority board

Kampala: Works minister Abraham Byandala has instituted the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) board after disbanding it for nearly one and half years.
It is understood that leadership wrangles between the board and the minister was among the major reasons that saw Mr Byandala disband the board, compelling some members then to seek legal redress.
Under the UNRA Act, the board is the governing body and is responsible for the general directions and supervision of the Authority.
“I am delighted to again set the Uganda National Roads Authority Board on its course,” Mr Byandala said last week at the Works ministry headquarters when launching the board.
