UGANDAN PRESIDENT HOLDS TALKS WITH PRINCE WILLIAM ON SIDELINES OF CHOGM IN LONDON

LONDON-- Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni has held talks with Prince William grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, in London on the sidelines of the ongoing 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

President Museveni, who met Prine William at Buckingham Palace in London during an audience on the meeting, says he agrees with the Duke of Cambridge that more efforts are needed in wildlife conservation.

"I agree with Prince William that we must do more to conserve wildlife," Museveni later tweeted.

Prince William, who is second in the line of succession to the British throne, has previously voiced his sentiments on wildlife conservation. In 2016, he told an international wildlife summit in Hanoi, Vietnam, that poachers had become more sophisticated and more brutal.

He said despite global efforts to tackle poaching, the crisis is thriving. But he maintained at the time that bringing an end to the trade was a possibility, that "it is only a test of will".

President Museveni flew to London on Wednesday to attend the biennial Summit.
