UGANDAN MP FAILS TO RECOGNIZE MINISTER, TELLS HIM STRANGERS NOT ALLOWED IN THE CHAMBER

KAMPALA, There was drama -- and laughter -- at the Ugandan Parliament here when the Member of Parliament for Busiro North, Dennis Galabuzi, who is also the Minister for Luweero Triangle, was mistaken as a stranger.

The Woman MP for Agago, Franca Akello, rose up on a point of order Wednesday and said: "Our rules don't allow strangers in the chambers of Parliament. I see a stranger sitting between Hon. Ephraim Kamuntu and Hon. Kasolo. It is the first time I am seeing him."

Akello's statement attracted laughter from fellow legislators as Galabuzi sheepishly smiled while raising his hand.

Responding to Akello, Speaker Rebecca Kadaga informed the House that Galabuzi is not a stranger but the Minister for Luweero Triangle and a Member of Parliament.

Galabuzi is one of the MPs who are rarely seen in the precincts of Parliament.
