UGANDAN BUSINESSMAN NAMED BY VIETNA

KAMPALA, A Ugandan businessman, Caesar Augustine Mulenga, has been appointed the new Honorary Consul of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Uganda.

Mulenga, who had been confirmed by Vietnam's Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pham Sanh Chau, at a meeting here Thursday which was also attended by various high profile personalities, including Ugandan Foreign Mnister Sam Kutesa, who later received Mulenga's credentials during the meeting.

"We welcome Augustus Ceasor Mulenga to join the diplomatic corps to promote the Vietnam-Uganda relationship," said Kutesa.

Uganda's Minister of Tourism, Ephraim Kamuntu, said Mulenga's experience and knowledge would greatly support Vietnamese business people who have been doing business in Uganda, and urged him to promote bilateral relations, especially in deepening political, social and economic relations between Vietnam and Uganda.
