Uganda to gauge for 2019 AFCON qualifier with game against Senegal

Uganda Cranes will play Senegal as they prepare for their first 2019 Nations Cup qualifier against Cape Verde in June.

FUFA has announced that Uganda Cranes will play a friendly match against Senegal in Dakar on June 6, 2017.

Uganda Cranes technical team led by Milutin Sredejovic to play the friendly match as the national team head to Cape Verde for the AFCON qualifier.

Senegal that has commanded African football in the past years is reemerging and playing Uganda Cranes will be a sufficient guage ahead of continental qualifier.

The last time Uganda and Senelgal met was in a 2014 World Cup play-off qualifier where Senegal won 1-0 Morocco in 2013.

FUFA communications manager Ahmed Hussein said that the team's technical wing is due to meet and consolidate plans for the upcoming international engagements.

Uganda is drawn in the 2019 Nations Cup qualifiers in Group L together with Cape Verde, Tanzania and Lesotho.
