KAMPALA, The Board of Directors of the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) has appointed Jolly Kamugira Kaguhangire as the investment promotion agency's new executive director for a four-year term which may be renewed by the board.
Kaguhangire succeeds Dr. Frank Sebbowa whose contract as the head of the UIA expired in October last year and who chose not to seek contract renewal.
Kaguhangire joins the investment promotions body from the Uganda Revenue Authority where she has worked for the past 23 years, rising through the ranks to head the institution's operations department for the last eight years.
Kaguhangire holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Organisation Leadership from Uganda Christian University and a postgraduate Diploma in Management from the Uganda Management Institute.
She has vowed to boost investor confidence and help the agency achieve its five-year strategic plan through which it plans to create a million jobs by 2021.
