Tororo to investigate mismanagement

Tororo.
Tororo District chairman Emmanuel Osuna has ordered for an investigation into alleged mismanagement of government programmes in Nagongera Sub-county.
Mr Osuna issued a directive on Wednesday during a a visit to the community to mobilise Persons with Disabilities [PWDs] to actively participate in the implementation of government programmes.

Reports indicate that PWDs under Walaweji Farmers Association were supported with Shs5 million under the Community Driven Development programme with a grinding mill but they sold the machine and opted to buy tree seedlings while others sold oxen and bought goats. Another Shs3.5m was given under special grants for PWDs but the treasurer has allegedly gone into hiding after receiving the money.
