Students held over forgery

Mbarara. Police in Mbarara have arrested 17 students of Global High School and Allied School Mbarara accused of forging bank slips. It is alleged the students forge banks slips and dupe school administrators that they have cleared their school fees through the banks when they have actually paid less.
Global High School head teacher Laban Kanywa said he went to withdraw money from the school account at Dfcu Mbarara branch on September 23, but found there little money than he expected.
When he asked the bank officials what went wrong, he discovered the amount that had been banked did not tally with what the school had recorded from the bank slips presented by students.
Mbarara District police commander Jaffer Magyezi said the suspects will be taken to court.
