Unless you just dropped from Mars, by now almost everyone knows that Eddy Kenzo floored Dembe FM presenter Isaac Katende aka Kasuku last week at Laftaz Lounge during a pre-concert press conference.
The singer is set to launch his latest album Sitya Loss this Friday at Kati Kati. But at the press conference, a Kenzo irked by Kasuku’s line of questioning and reported long-running feud, jumped over tables and thumped the living daylights out of the mouthy radio personality.
Star Trail has learnt that Kasuku is now suing the Stamina artiste for assault. The radio presenter last year also sued Chameleone’s wife Daniella for slapping him, but they settled out of court.
Katende did not reveal how much he pocketed, but at least he upgraded from boda bodas to a DMC Corona. Maybe he should now start visiting car showrooms again… after all, Kenzo fears no loss!
Patra, Burna Boy, Mafikizolo jet in tomorrow
Patra, Burna Boy and Mafikizolo, three of the main acts for the Club Mega Fest concert that goes down this Saturday, will be jetting into the country tomorrow. Sam Hooper, Club beer brand manager confirmed the development on Monday.
However, to the disappointment of many, there will be no meet-and-greet parties. Usually meet-and-greet parties are a must-have for fans to use the opportunity to get up close and personal with their stars. Hooper says the meet-and-greet party was not in the contracts. Meanwhile, Shaggy arrives on Friday.
Comedian Eric Omondi returns to UG
Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi, who cracked up fans at Laftaz Lounge two months ago, is set to return at the end of the month. Omondi will be here at the end of September for the Mirinda upcountry comedy shows and he will have a show in Mbarara and Mbale.
Eagles, kiss and make up, already!
It is more than six months since Eagles Production broke up and one would expect former band members to be on, well, not cordial terms exactly, but to have quit the mudslinging and bickering.
After all, both Da Nu Eagles and Golden band are doing well, going by their reported concerts’ attendances. But no, they continue to bicker. At the September 6 official launch of Golden band at Calendar Rest House, Makindye, Golden band’s Mesach Ssemakula angrily complained about Da Nu’s Geoffrey Lutaaya’s continued media interviews in which he complains about having sold his kamunye for the good of Eagles Production which he left when the band rebranded.
“Who did not sell a car? Didn’t you buy my kibina [Toyota Corona, 1992 model]? But the man talks and talks because he sold his taxi,” Semakula told one man who was attending the September 6 launch.
The man uncomfortably murmured that he had indeed bought Ssemakula’s kibina to help save Eagles Production. If only these former band members could kiss and make up! Looks like we have to give it some time.
