SNC Bobo 2023: Let’s go for the craft and commercial fair

The Minister in charge of Industrial Development, Serge Gnaniodem Poda proceeded this Sunday, in Bobo-Dioulasso, to the opening of the craft and commercial fair of the 20th edition of the National Week of Culture (SNC) Bobo 2023.

The Minister of Industrial Development, Trade, Handicrafts and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Serge Gnaniodem Poda gave the starting signal in the presence of the Burkinabè Minister in charge of Culture, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo and his Guinean counterpart, Alpha Soumah .

According to Minister Serges Poda, the craft and trade fair aims to promote and consolidate economic integration through intra-community trade.

It also provides an appropriate framework for exhibitors and festival-goers to share their experiences and establish mutually beneficial partnerships.

It is one of the events of the Burkinabè cultural biennale which contributes to making the SNC much more visible and gives it more luster according to Minister Poda.

According to him, the craft and commercial fair is positioned as one of the flagship activities of the SNC. It offers several possibilities for both exhibitors and festival-goers.

The authorities visit the stands

As usual, the craft and trade fair brings together a diversity of exhibitors operating in various fields of rich activities including agri-food, crafts and art.

As well as pharmacopoeia, IT and technology, communication, banking and insurance, trade, maquis-restaurants, etc.

This year, she is no exception to the rule. Indeed, the fair has about 636 stands with exhibitors from Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Ghana, Senegal and Guinea, guest of honor.

Invites to visit the Stands

Serge Poda invited people to massively visit the stands during this biennale while respecting the safety instructions.

Moreover, the holding of high mass in a national situation marked by the reconquest of the territory is a sign of the resilience of the people of Burkina Faso.

For his part, the Guinean Minister of Culture Alpha Soumah, was delighted to find himself once again in Burkina Faso.

“Being chosen as the guest of honor for such an event cannot be refused. There are very close ties between Burkina Faso and Guinea through history, people and communities,” he said.

"It's always a pleasure for us to come here after SIAO and FESPACO and to participate in the SNC," added the Guinean minister.

He also praised the dynamism of the Burkinabè people who remain standing despite the security context.

The Guinean minister in charge of culture presented the well-known Nimba mask in Guinea to the minister, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.

“The sister country, Guinea, our country, will always be alongside countries like Burkina Faso, to show that Africa is oneness, Africa is indivisible. (…). The Burkinabè desire to consume locally is of very strong inspiration and all of Africa wants to do like that”, he argued.

The end of the ceremony was marked by the cutting of the ribbon followed by the visit of the stands.

To thank Burkina Faso for having honored Guinea, the Guinean delegation led by its minister in charge of culture handed over the well-known Nimba mask in Guinea. to the minister, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.
