SNC 2023: 196 artists to animate the Plateaux off

On the sidelines of the various competitions of the 20th edition of the National Culture Week (SNC) Bobo 2023, the entertainment sets also called off sets are also held.

5 in number across the city, 196 artists will perform there to the delight of the public.

As usual, the sets off will still be there during the 20th edition of the National Culture Week (SNC).

Evariste Combary is the president of the "Ceremonies and entertainment" commission.

According to him, his commission is responsible for coordinating, in partnership with the other commissions, the official opening ceremony and the animation of the off sets.

“Our commission is responsible for selecting and programming the artists on these sets,” he said.

The objective of these platforms, explained Mr. Combary, is the promotion and enhancement of Burkinabè culture through musician artists, and to keep the population in suspense.

According to him, 5 off-sets, including one at the level of the central town hall, will be installed across the city.

196 artists will perform on these sets throughout the event.

Among them, to listen to the first head of the “Ceremonies and animation” commission, 78 are from the National Grand Prix for Arts and Letters (GPNAL).

As for the rest of the artists, there will be artists programmed for playback, orchestras who will perform live, and modern artists, all from the land of upright men.

Evariste Combary has indicated that there are no established criteria in the selection of artists. “There was no call for applications”.

A commission of experts who know the cultural universe of Burkina Faso, according to him, was committed to the task of designating the various artists.

Mr. Combary also reassured about the good performance of the biennale in general, and of the activities of his commission in particular.

"There's no reason the party can't be good. Everyone must do their part for this success,” he said.
