Parliament of Uganda to recognise David Emong for winning Gold Medal

Parliament of Uganda will tomorrow Tuesday recognize World Para Athletics Championships in London, David Emong, National Council of Sports can confirm.

Emong won Uganda's first gold medal in the men's 1500m T46 at the eighth edition of the World Para Athletics Championship in London last week.

He defeated hitherto defending champion Algerian Nouioua Samir with a personal best time of 3:58.36.

Speaking of the gesture by Parliament of Uganda, NCS General Secretary Nicholas Muramagi commended it and said that it started with the athlete's hard work and also regular support for him to exploit his talent.

National Council of Sports has rewarded Emong a plot of land, Ush5million and another Ush500000 monthly stipend for winning a gold medal at the just concluded World Para Athletics Championships 2017 in London.
