Ouagadougou: Our Lady of the Annunciation School Complex celebrates its 25th anniversary

The Our Lady of the Annunciation School Complex in Cissin closed the activities marking the celebration of its 25th anniversary with a thanksgiving mass on Saturday May 20, 2023 in Ouagadougou.

1998 to 2023, it has been 25 years since the Notre Dame de l'Annonciation de Cissin school complex was created. It was with an opening mass on October 29, 2022 that the celebration of the silver jubilee began.

On May 20, 2023, a thanksgiving mass, marking the end of activities, took place on the premises of the establishment.

Students, staff, former students and parents of students came to attend this mass.

The theme of the jubilee is: "On the eve of the 25th anniversary of the Notre Dame de l'Annonciation school complex in Cissin, all in solidarity, let us celebrate the benefits of God through this educational work and engage in innovative actions advocating the excellence".

This celebration, according to the celebrant priest, moreover, chaplain of the high schools and colleges of Ouagadougou, Innocent Kobindé, was an opportunity for the founding nuns to enumerate the benefits of God, to magnify him for all thanksgiving and also to perform an act of gratitude.

“But the complex, like all the other establishments, faces the challenges of school delinquency, incivility and the resignation of parents of students,” underlined the priest in his homely.

And the General Manager of the complex, Justine Somé to invite all the actors of the establishment to commit together to promote excellence, through renewed actions.

Noted that this establishment in Ouagadougou was created by the congregation of the Sisters of the Annunciation of Bobo-Dioulasso.

It currently has around 1,025 pupils and is made up of a kindergarten, a primary and a post-primary (the 1st cycle ).
