The Civil Aviation and Airports Authority (OACA) denied the explosion of a foreign plane's engine at Tunis-Carthage airport, contrary to information relayed on this subject by some local and foreign media and on social networks. The OACA said in a statement issued on Wednesday that an ordinary technical failure was found in the engine of the plane in question, during the inspection of the aircraft on the airport tarmac. The plane is currently parked at Tunis-Carthage airport until the repair process is completed. Local and foreign news sites announced on Wednesday the explosion of the engine of an Airbus plane belonging to the "Iraqi Airways" company. According to the same sources, the plane was carrying an Iraqi government delegation to Tunisia. For their part, Iraqi Airways and the Iraqi ministry issued statements denying the explosion of the engine of an Airbus A 220 carrying a government delegation that was to attend cultural events in Tunisia and called for verification of information with official sources.
