Mediterranean Karate championship scheduled in Tunis to see 440 competitors

The Tunisian Karate Federation (FTK) announced on Friday that 447 karatekas from 19 countries will take part in the 29th Mediterranean championship of the discipline, scheduled from May 19 to 21 in Rades.

This championship will see the participation of several world and Olympic champions, said President of the FTK Hassan Korbi at a press conference on Friday.

The competition will involve Tunisia, as well as Albania, Algeria, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Libya, Montenegro, Morocco, Northern Macedonia, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Syria and Turkey.

Tunisia will be represented by 142 karatekas in the different categories. They are Thameur Slimani, Ramez Bouallègue, Chahine Zarati and Islem Ben Hassan in the senior category, Mariem Ben Taleb, Ranim Ben Hassan and Iheb Ferchichi in the junior category, and Mayssa Ksontini, Yasmine Balaazi and Rayane Ghazouani in the cadet category.
