Man lynched over death of spouse


olice in Luweero District are investigating circumstances under which a 39-year-old man was recently lynched for allegedly killing his wife.The District Police Commander, Mr Godfrey Ninsiima, said Mutwalib Lugendo was seen by neighbours chasing his wife with a machete shortly before the woman died from wounds at a nearby clinic.

Mr Ninsiima said Lugendo went into hiding after the incident but later returned to his home where residents descended on him and beat him to death. Mr Ninsiima condemned the action of the residents.
