Literature: Student Yaya Ouédraogo releases his second novel

Student Yaya Ouédraogo presented Friday at the AIB, his second novel entitled: “The tragic destiny of President Tinga” which “lays bare the fickle nature of politics in Africa”.

After "The Miraculous" in August 2022, student Yaya Ouédraogo (26) is back with a second novel: "The tragic destiny of President Tinga", published in April 2023.

"The themes that I address in the book are dictatorship, corruption, exploitation and bad governance," he told the AIB.

The undergraduate philosophy student says he draws his inspiration from “these African leaders who sacrificed themselves for freedom, like Thomas Sankara and Patrice Lumumba.

"It's also a way for me to expose the fickleness of politics in Africa," Ouedraogo said.

"The tragic destiny of President Tinga", 120 pages, Les Editions IKS, is available at the Joseph Ki-Zerbo university bookstore at the price of 3,000f CFA.

In the coming days, the work will be available in other local bookstores.
