Musician Eddy Kenzo (born Edrisa Musazi) has been in the media of recent for the wrong reasons – beating up Ddembe FM’s Isaac Katende, aka Kasuku.
The fight happened last week during a press conference to announce his concert scheduled for this evening at Kati Kati grounds in Lugogo. The Sitya Loss concert is a great way for Eddy Kenzo to end what has been a very successful year. The song not only changed his life but also the ghetto children that did the dance choreography in the video.
The video went viral, even attracting the attention of big names in Hollywood, the likes of Will Smith and music mogul P. Diddy. Many around the world recorded their own versions of the Sitya Loss dance moves. Kenzo has since been nominated for several awards, the latest being the prestigious Channel O awards in the Most Gifted category.
“I have had many good years when I did songs like Yanimba and Stamina, but this year has been even bigger since Sitya Loss has taken me international,” he said at the press conference. He further said being original is the only way to get to the top because Ugandan musicians cannot copy Jamaican or Nigerian styles and export them back.
The show starts at 8pm and revellers should not expect curtain raisers because the man of the night has prepared over 40 songs to be performed and end the show before midnight. However, the organisers have promised fans a few surprise performances.
Tickets cost Shs 10,000 and Shs 30,000 for VIPs.
