KCB Uganda Sponsors Rotary 5-Aside Charity Tournament (allAfrica.com)

As the countdown towards the Rotary 5-aside nears, KCB Uganda has raised the stakes with a Shs 5m sponsorship.

The one-day tournament is organized by the Rotary Club of Kiwatule. Announcing the sponsorship at Kabira country club on Wednesday, KCB head of marketing Samuel Matekha appreciated Rotary’s work in supporting communities and pledged continued partnership.

“We are proud to partner with this sporting innovation to raise funds to projects in our communities,” he said.

More than 50 teams are expected to take part and the proceeds will go towards the Rotary Club of Kiwatule’s support projects in the areas of education, health, and humanitarian aid, among others.

Former Cranes players Jimmy Kirunda, David Obua and Hakim Magumba have already confirmed participation. The Rotary Charity Shield is scheduled for September 26 at the Lugogo hockey pitch.
