Kabarole threatens to sue Uneb

Kabarole: Kabarole District Local Government has threatened to sue the Uganda National Examinations Board if it continues withholding results of 235 pupils of Harugongo Primary School.

While releasing the 2013 Primary Leaving Examinations in Kampala last week, Uneb secretary Mathew Bukenya said they withheld results of some schools for alleged malpractices.

The district chairperson, Mr Richard Rwabuhinga, ruled out any malpractices at the school, saying Uneb scouts pitched camp at the school for two days to monitor the examination.

Mr Rwabuhinga also said they would demand suspension and blacklist of its scouts who were stationed at Harugogo.

However, last week Mr Bukenya said the results would be released after the exam body had investigated the malpractice allegations.

“Those candidates who will be cleared will have their results released and the Ministry of Education and Sports will consider placement of candidates who qualify to join the post-primary institutions in good time,” he said.
