Kabarole teachers Sacco gets Shs35m

Kabarole. Two teachers’ savings and credit cooperatives (Saccos) in Kabarole District have received Shs35 million as low-interest loans from Microfinance Support Centre (MSC). Fort Portal Teachers’ Sacco and Mubuka Teachers’ Sacco have received Shs30 million and Shs5 million respectively.
The money was handed to them on Monday at Kabarole Microfinance Support Centre Zonal offices at Kalya Courts.
Mr Peter Kibirango, the regional credit manager, MSC, said the money is given at a low interest rate compared to the banks and will be a relief to teachers.
Mr Hannington Mwesige, the chairman Fort Portal Teachers Sacco, said the support will relieve teachers of banks that charge high interest rates.
