Female civil servants call for special consideration

Masindi. Masindi District local government female civil servants have said they should not be penalised for late arrival for work saying women have a lot of responsibilities at home.
The remarks come after the district leadership attributed poor service delivery to late coming of employees.
The leadership last year introduced a record book to track arrival time for the workers, however, they hid it and eventually failed the move.
Ms Ruth Kisakye, the secretary Masindi District land board, said before women report for duty, they have to prepare breakfast for their families and that some cannot breastfeed without eating.
“It is important for the Ministry of Public Service to give female employees special consideration given that we have many responsibilities,” she said last week.
