The Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj. Gen Tumusiime Katsigazi has today 12th/8/2022 made a working visit to the Directorate of Interpol &IR.

This is part of the familiarization visits he has been making to different Directorates /Units of the Uganda Police Force.

He was welcomed by the Ag. Director Interpol & IR SCP Obwona Joseph introduced him to the team and their responsibilities.

The visit was aimed at strengthening international and regional cooperation, and border management and also initiating means to integrate INTERPOL with URA and sharing vehicle database to curb motor vehicle theft in the country and the region at large.

SCP Obwona briefed the DIGP on the structure and role of the Directorate of Interpol in fighting transnational crimes as well as the challenges faced among other issues.

In his address, the DIGP applauded SCP Obwona and the entire staff for the job well done and appreciated the challenges the

Directorate was grappling with, before promising to address the challenges with police management.
