Development and fight against insecurity: the ten commitments of African youth presented to the Head of State

The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE received this Monday morning in audience a delegation from the Association for the Promotion of African Integration (APIA), led by its President Hassane Billy OUATTARA .

Organizer of the International Forum of African Youth of Ouagadougou (FIJAO), the association came to present to the Head of State, the ten commitments made by the youth during this meeting which brought together young people from ten African countries. .

"It was for us to come and present these commitments to the Head of State, tell him the responsibilities we have taken and what we are going to do concretely on the ground to contribute to this fight against insecurity in the Sahel. », indicated Hassane Billy OUATTARA, also president of the FIJAO organizing committee.

United around the values of solidarity, mutual aid, living well together and dynamism in work, young people intend to play their part in solving the problems that undermine the continent and for their full participation in the development of Africa.

To do this, they are committed,

at the end of the Forum, to strengthen frameworks for improving patriotic culture and good citizenship, to strengthen the culture of integrity among young people and the virtues of good governance, to carry out actions to promote entrepreneurship and financial education, to encourage social and solidarity entrepreneurship.

According to the president of the FIJAO Organizing Committee, for one year and throughout Africa, young people will also work to strengthen civic engagement, to mentor and guide young people in their political commitment, promoting female leadership and equal opportunity in all development sectors.

The youth also made a commitment to invest in the fight against gender-based violence and in the promotion of sexual and reproductive health. The young people also intend to make young people aware of their participation in the fight against insecurity and terrorism and to act in favor of living together and social cohesion.

The President of the Transition hailed this willingness of African youth to contribute to the struggles against terrorism and for the development of the continent. He encouraged and congratulated the young people for their commitment and reassured them of his support.
