Democratic Current plans to launch reform project for Tunisia (Conference)

New Secretary General of the Democratic Current party Nabil Hajji said that the party will propose a reform project which will be shared with Tunisian citizens and all political parties, adding that this political formation proceeded to revisions and explanations on its position to reaffirm its membership of the socio-democratic parties.

During a press conference on Tuesday in Tunis, devoted to the presentation of the results of the 3rd party congress held from April 28 to 30, Hajji explained that this project proposal meets the social demands of all Tunisians and finds its roots in the belief that "most Tunisians are currently unconvinced by democracy due to the lack of economic and social achievements".

According to Hajji, this reform project cannot thrive in an environment devoid of democracy and freedoms, "contrary to what some among the elite believe that autocracy alone is capable of saving the country and improve Tunisians' living conditions.»
