The University of Tunis El Manar held at the City of Sciences in Tunis Tuesday the closing conference of the new international MA Degree "Studies in Migrations: Governance, Policies and Cultures" which was launched in the 2021-2022 academic year for a period of 3 years.
Project Coordinator at El Manar University Samira El Mechri said during the conference that this new master has 45 Tunisian students and 5 sub-Saharan students. It is taught in English in several Tunisian and European schools and is destined to train experts and specialists in the management of regular and secure migration.
She indicated that this master's degree, which is funded by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), under the Erasmus+ programme, is taught at the University of Tunis El Manar and at the universities of Tunis and Manouba.
"The 50 Tunisian students were selected from 200 candidates," she said, adding that the first graduating class of this master's degree is scheduled for 2023-2024.
She affirmed that 23 exchange programmes were organised so as to unify teaching programs in Tunisian and European universities, in addition to the holding of 2 summer schools in Granada (Spain) and London which resulted in 31 practical activities specialised in the management of regular and secure migrations.
