Citizen watch: the CDVC-Houndé reports

The Houndé Committee for Dialogue and Citizen Watch (CDVC-Houndé) organized its accountability day on Thursday, May 18, 2023. On the occasion, he took stock of his activities from 2021 to 2023.

The role of the Houndé Committee for Dialogue and Citizen Watch (CDVC-Houndé) is to oversee the management of the affairs of the commune.

On Thursday, May 18, 2023, he was in front of the population to present his activities from 2021 to 2023.

According to the president of the CDVC-Houndé, Adama Traoré, this meeting is part of his day of accountability which wants the committee to take stock of its activities to the population in order to keep them informed of the actions carried out.

The report presented by the president of the CDVC-Houndé, Adama Traoré mentions several activities carried out from 2021 to 2023.

He cited, among other things, training on school mapping and health mapping and the medico-technical needs of the municipality, raising awareness of the population on the payment of taxes and duties, meetings on the civic participation of women, outings from monitoring of investments made in the municipality.

There is also a public conference on the investments made by the Mining Fund for Local Development, radio broadcasts on the special delegation, the mobilization of the municipality's own resources, the citizen participation of young people and women, etc.

However, the actions of the CDVC-Houndé are not without difficulties.

According to its president Adama Traoré, the first difficulty is undoubtedly the question of insecurity.

« We do field trips, suddenly with the insecurity we can't go to the affected localities to follow the achievements. This also impacts our meetings because we have to limit the mobilization to 50 people » he explained.

Other difficulties mentioned by Mr. Traoré are the lack of working materials, in particular cameras and printers, and the unavailability of certain members of the citizen watch cells in the villages for testimonies.

Given the interest shown by the participants in the activity, Mr. Traoré said he was "very satisfied" at the end of the meeting.

To preserve the achievements of citizen watch in Houndé, he asked for the support of the population.

Created on April 19, 2019 by the NGO ORCADE, the CDVC-Houndé is made up of 10 civil society organizations from the municipality of Houndé.
