Byekwaso lands gold (Daily Monitor (Uganda))

KAMPALA. Bodybuilder Ivan Byekwaso, once again, walked his talk by winning a gold medal at the INBA Mr Natural Universe tournament Saturday in Texas USA.
An overjoyed Byekwaso quickly after his monumental victory, took to his Facebook wall and posted: “Lord God thanks for answering my hard work. Ladies and gentlemen this victory is for all Ugandans around the world.”
He augmented the celebratory message with various photo shots. In some photos he is seen donning his medal and hoisting a golden shield with the ‘INBA’ logo engraved on it while in others he was shaking hands with INBA president Danny Kakos, all with the Uganda national flag so conspicuous.

Rising star
Before he left for Texas, Byekwaso had promised the best performance after thorough preparation.
“I am now beyond that level of fighting for places “Ugandans know I never make empty promises…I told them I would bring medals last year and I did. Now trust me, I am going for gold,” he vowed before departure last week. And indeed he went for it and snatched it.
Byekwaso’s star is simply rising after the five-time Mr Uganda won silver at the INBA World Championship in Nitra, Slovakia and bronze at the World Olympia in San Diego, USA last year. In November, he will participate in the World Cup and the World Olympia both in USA.
