Bus driver dies in Luweero accident

Luweero: Police in Luweero have confirmed the death of a bus driver who was taken to Mulago hospital in critical condition on Monday night following a motor accident.

Luweero District police commander Godfrey Ninsiima identified the deceased as Godfrey Otim, 34, a bus driver of ACANADIRO Transporters.

The accident, according to the DPC, involved a semi-trailer, which was heading to Kampala from Gulu Town and a bus belonging to ACANADIRO Transporters, which was heading to Lira Town from Kampala. The two vehicles were involved in a head-on-collision at Kikoma village, two kilometres from Wobulenzi Town in Luweero at 6pm on Monday.

“We did not record any other injuries apart from the ones sustained by the bus driver, who was pronounced dead shortly after admission to Mulago hospital,” Mr Ninsiima said.
