Burkina/Media: The president of the ALT salutes the commitment and resilience of the Observer Paalga

The President of the Transitional National Assembly (ALT), Dr Ousmane Bougouma, praised the commitment and resilience of Observer Paalga on Thursday, during the open days organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the oldest private daily newspaper in Burkina Faso.

“ We have seen the commitment of the founders of the newspaper L'Observateur Paalga because the history of this medium has not been smooth sailing. This diary truly shows resilience. We want to seize the opportunity, encourage and wish a lot of success to the actors”, indicated the President of the National Transitional Assembly (ALT), Dr Ousmane Bougouma.

The President of the Transitional National Assembly (ALT), Dr Ousmane Bougouma, spoke on Thursday in Ouagadougou on the occasion of the Open Days of Burkina Faso's leading private daily, L'observer Paalga.

For Mr. Bougouma, these open days allowed him to learn a little more about "the history of this important medium in Burkina Faso's media landscape", from "the typewriter to the digital age ".

For the president of the Superior Council of Communication, Abdoulazize Bamogo, by taking the route (of the stands) "we are not only doing the course of the history of the Paalga observer, but also, we are doing the course of the history of the Burkina Faso”.

“I saw the different stages, the different events that the newspaper went through. The photos of illustrations also show the key elements of the history of Burkina of which the Observer Paalga was a first-hand witness”, he indicated.

Mr. Bamogo encouraged L'Observateur Paalga to invest more in digital.

For the founder of the dean of private dailies in Burkina Faso, Edouard Ouédraogo, the digital challenge is at the center of reflection at the Paalga Observer.

“How are we going to negotiate this turning point and continue to appear for the greater good of our readers and for the greater good of democracy in our country?” he wondered.

As a reminder, the first private daily in Burkina Faso, L'Observateur Paalga, was on May 28, 1973. The activities marking the silver jubilee of this daily began on Tuesday with an international symposium.
