Burkina: Daily newspapers discuss the 2023 competitions and the fight against false information

This Wednesday's Burkinabè press evokes the fiftieth anniversary of the colleague L'Observateur Paalga, the 2023 session of professional and direct competitions, as well as the fight against false information.

The daily Sidwaya mentions on its front page: "Fight against fake news: The +10 tips + of the CSC presented", informing that the Superior Council of Communication (CSC), in partnership with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), has presented the ten rules of good conduct on the various digital platforms, on Tuesday May 23, 2023 in Ouagadougou.

The private daily, L'Express du Faso, published in Bobo-Dioulasso, adds that in this situation that our country is going through, the CSC has found that non-professional information, through fake news and hate speech pose a dangerous threat to peace . and live it together.

The Bobolais newspaper takes up the words of the president of the CSC, Abdoulaziz Bamogo, who believes that "it is in this perspective that the regulatory body has drawn up a list of ten pieces of advice addressed to our citizens in order to encourage them to adopt responsible behavior on the networks and in the broadcasts of direct expression”.

The newspaper informs that the Ministry of Public Service, Labor and Social Protection hosted, on Tuesday, May 23 in Ouagadougou, a press conference on the launch of professional and direct public service competitions, session 2023.

For its part, the private newspaper Le Pays adds that the public service competitions for the year 2023 are already in the registration phase, in particular for professional competitions since May 22.

He explains that for the organization of these competitions, the ministry intends to mobilize more than 2 billion CFA francs.

Meanwhile, L'Express du Faso points out that for the year 2023, the Ministry of the Public Service intends to be able to 5,383 positions in professional competitions and 7,218 positions in direct competitions.

The newspaper reports that with regard to direct competitions, 127 are planned and that registrations will be made from June 5 to 14, 2023 for competitions of a level higher than or equal to the Baccalaureate, and from June 15 to 24, 2023, for those BEPC level.

The written tests of the direct competitions are planned for the month of August, underlined the newspaper.

For its part, the private newspaper Le Quotidien is content to headline: “Direct competitions for the Public Service session 2023: Registrations scheduled for June 15 to 24”.

Under the title "50 years of L'Observateur Paalga: A science symposium to start the activities" Sidwaya mentions that it is within the framework of the commemoration of its golden jubilee that the daily L'Observateur Paalga organizes the 23 and 24 May 2023 in Ouagadougou, a scientific symposium on the theme "African media facing digital development: resilience, opportunity and challenges".

In this regard, Today in Faso displays: "Traditional media faced with the emergence of digital technology: decoding the fiftieth anniversary of L'Observateur Paalga".

Speaking of this colloquium, L'Observateur Paalga notes that during the two days, about fifteen papers from academics and professionals from here and elsewhere will be under the gaze of about 200 participants.
