Burkina: A collective denies having received 18 million FCFA from the authorities

The Collective of Pan-African Leaders (CLP) formally denied, on Tuesday, having received the sum of 18 million FCFA from the authorities of the Transition, within the framework of the holding of their various activities. , in support of the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

“The collective of Pan-African leaders (CLP) denies and formally condemns the unfounded accusations which stipulate that one of theirs would have received the sum of 18 million FCFA from the authorities of the Transition, within the framework of holding the various activities of the structure”, said Tuesday, one of its spokespersons Moussa Sanfo, during a press briefing.

For some time now, social networks have been reporting divisions within the CLP, because one of its leaders, Mohamed Sinon, allegedly embezzled 12 million FCFA, out of a total amount of 18 million FCFA.

According to Moussa Sanfo, these "slanderous remarks" aim to undermine the efforts made by the Transition through the leaders of civil society organizations (CSOs) who support it.

He underlined that none of the CLP leaders has been contacted by anyone, while reassuring that there is always a good climate within the collective.

Moussa Sanfo also announced that a complaint will be brought against X for defamation.

"Since the departure of the French army, many people have turned against the CSOs who favored the departure of this French force from Burkina but also against the supporters of the Transition", he remarked.

According to Mr. Sanfo, despite "the actions of sabotage", the CLP remains in solidarity with the authorities of the Transition, committed to the reconquest of territorial integrity.

The group of pan-African leaders, considered close to the Transition, took part in numerous demonstrations by civil society actors who obtained the departure of the French army from Burkina Faso.
