Australian envoy opens classroom block at African Children's Choir (Daily Monitor (Uganda))

The Australian High Commissioner to Uganda, John Feakes has launched a classroom block at the African Children’s Choir School in Entebbe.
The classroom block, which was partly funded by the Australian government is part of the larger plan through which the commission seeks to support Uganda’s education.
Speaking at the launch Mr Feakes said: “The Australian government recognises the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty by providing support to organisations such as the African Children’s Choir.”

This, he said, is to “enable them increase their capacity to provide quality education to vulnerable children. The classroom block was opened last week.
The African Children’s Choir has since its inception had success in its model of education, student scholarships and choir programmes, and has produced leaders in health care, education, entertainment and community development.
Amb Feakes later hosted his guests to performances from Kwaya Australia, who collaborate with the African Children’s Choir.
