ALGERIAN MINISTER MESSAHEL LEAVES FOR KAMPALA MONDAY

ALGIERS, Algerian Minister of Maghreb, African Union and Arab League Affairs Abdelkader Messahel leaves here Monday for Kampala carrying a message from President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to his Ugandan counterpart, President Yoweri Musevini.

“This mission is aimed at strengthening friendship ties and consultations between the two countries, which was illustrated by the State visit of the President of Uganda to Algeria in October 2015,” said a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here Sunday.

Messahel’s visit to Kampala will be an opportunity to examine co-operation between the two countries, the situation in the region as well as the issues on the agenda of the forthcoming African Union (AU) Summit, to be held on Jan 30 and 31, 2016 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the statement added.
