AFRICAN GREAT LAKES REGION OFFICIALS MEETING IN KAMPALA TO DISCUSS FUTURE OF THE REGION

KAMPALA, Nov 11– At least 100 government officials from 10 member countries of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) regional bloc are meeting in Kampala to discuss the future of the region.

According to a media statement received here Monday, the meeting is being held within the framework of the Regional Training Programme for Officials from the Great Lakes Region at Speke Resort Munyonyo here on Monday and Tuesday.

The workshop is dedicated to discussing issues of regional interest which include regional integration, natural resources, food security, health and education.

The participants at the meeting are officials who have undergone previous training conducted by the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva, supported by the Government of Switzerland.
