30 suspects arrested in Luweero operation

Luweero.

Thirty people have been arrested in Luweero District in a massive operation to crack down on rapists, robbers and murderers.The district police commander, Mr Godfrey Ninsiima, said the suspects include eight members of a notorious criminal gang which calls itself as ‘B13’.

“B13 group was on our wanted list,” he said. Mr Ninsiima also said the suspects, with a base at Galuweero Zone in Luweero Town Council disguise themselves as petty job workers during day time but engage in criminal acts at night.“The crackdown has yielded some fruit because we have netted some prime suspects who could help us in investigating the criminal acts that have rocked Luweero,” he said.

Recent casesLast month, police recorded six cases of murder with the latest involving 48-year-old Rachel Mukasanga who was found dead in her bar at Galuweero Zone. Recently, a mother and her three-month-old baby were shot at Nakasero zone in Wobulenzi.
