Why charge job application fees?

Reference is made to a job aert by a company seeking to recruit more than 1,300 individuals as regional managers, district office administrators, cashiers, etc. Whereas I applaud them for creating several vacancies for our unemployed youths, their application fees of Shs50,000 makes me suspicious.
If just only 100 applicants responded for each job slot aertised (the company aertised 1,320 vacancies) and paid the Shs50,000, they would make Shs6.6 billion. I, therefore, urge, especially our youth, who are always desperate to do anything in order to have a job, to tread carefully. I also hope the police and the ministry of Labour will pick interest in this.
