Uganda Diaspora in Gulu Talks

This year’s Home is Best Summit a conference that brings together Ugandans in the diaspora to invest in their country will be held in Gulu Town.

The summit, which will be the 7th, is hosted by the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA). Gulu is Uganda’s third largest town.

According to Dr. Eng. Frank Ssebowa the UIA Executive Director, the Summit is expected to attract 200 to 400 people and will showcase Northern Uganda as a viable and safe location to invest.

It will as well present success stories of Diaspora investment and untapped vast business opportunities.

Business people from the EAC member countries and the immediate beyond are expected to attend, The region is strategically located to enable easy access for show goers.

They will come from Kenya, Southern Sudan and the DR Congo.

It is hoped the Summit will change the stereotype notion that Northern Uganda is war ravaged and unsafe.

Ssebowa said, “The Government of Uganda is committed to ensuring that the sustained peace in the region will continue to provide a conducive environment for trade and investment.”
