Two Dead in King Oyo Convoy Accident

Reports are coming in that Tooro king Oyo Nyimba today escaped unhurt when his convoy was involved in an accident on the Kampala-Fort Portal highway.

The Observer understands that two of the king’s guards died and others were taken to Mubende hospital, although this has not yet been independently verified.

Police and palace sources said the accident occurred this evening, near Mubende NTC, as the king was travelling towards Kampala.

His convoy is reported to have run into the scene of an accident involving boda boda motorcyclists. In a bid to avoid another accident, the driver of Oyo’s lead car reportedly swerved, only to lose control of the vehicle.

The king is understood to have continued on his journey.
