Two Australians die in an accident

Two Australians have died in Mubende after their motor cycle threw them off the road. They were heading to Fort Portal for a tour.

The incident happened at Kisekende village in Mubende town on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the eye witness, the deceased who were over speeding wanted to overtake a corona car that was heading to Mubende town when they got knocked by another vehicle registration number UAV 642T which was coming from the opposite direction.

The Mubende district traffic officer, Mr Alex Muramuzi said the duo identified as Dean Griffioen, 33, and Tanya Natasha Griffioen, 34, died instantly and attributed the cause of the accident to reckless driving and over speeding.
The bodies were taken to Mubende hospital for postmortem.
“We are contacting the Australian Embassy so that they can come and pick the bodies of their people” said Muramuzi.
