Teacher, pupils killed in motor accident

A high school teacher and two other people on Tuesday died instantly in two different accidents that occurred in Nasuti Kayunga road and in Walusubi Namajjolo in Mukono district.
The deceased were identified by police as Robert Gonza a teacher of St. Joseph Nagalama Secondary School, Anthony Oweke and the other only identified as SSemujju.
Gonza who passed on in the Nasuti accident was riding a motorcycle registration number UEA 490H. He was knocked as he tried to over take a taxi UAT 738T that was headed for Kayunga, leaving 10 passengers critical condition.
Because of the momentum of the speeding taxi, the deceased was dragged along the tarmac road for about ten metres away thus shattering his head.
In the Namawojjolo accident, Oweke the driver and his passenger in the Mark II registration number UAL 896T headed for Jinja from Kampala also died instantly in collusion with an oncoming car as they tried to over take another vehicle in a corner, according to eye witnesses.
Residents said the spot is notorious for fatal accidents because of the slippery nature of the road and reckless driving by some drivers.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kawolo Hospital. Some of the accident victims were taken to Mulago National Referral hospital while the vehicles and the motorcycle were towed to Mukono police.
The OC Traffic Mukono, Justine Opusi said that they are still investigating to establish the cause of the accident.
