Sheila Gashumba and her father Frank Gashumba have been trending for being thrown out of the ‘Face of MUK’ event.
Sheila was there as Radiant’s brand ambassador. However, all hell broke loose when she attempted to address the ‘Makerereans’ while seated. Star Trail has learnt that the students turned rowdy because they interpreted the “young girl without a senior six pass slip” addressing them while seated as disrespect.
Speaking to Star Trail on Monday morning, she said, “They wanted me to stand while addressing them and I refused so, they started making noise.” She also revealed that the Lumumba hall boys were pulling Irene Ntale’s skirt down and yet the room had no lights.
Well, the organisers of the event could have done better. The two needed police protection from the hooliganism. Ntale has not spoken out about the incident.
Princess’ $100 pledge
Buganda kingdom’s Katrina Ssangalyambogo graced the exhibition tennis match between Kinetic’s Cedric Babu and Duncan Mugabe. At the end of the game, Babu decided to hold a mini fundraising ceremony for an upcoming tennis player, who he said could be the next Serena Williams.
As many made cash pledges, the teenage princess, seated with her older brother prince Crispin Jjunju, raised her hand and pledged $100. Somehow, the subsequent pledges changed from being made in Uganda shillings to US dollars.
Now, if that is not setting a trend, then what is? Way to go, princess. Thank you for contributing towards the little girl’s future.
Chameleone, Pallaso honour AK47 in song
Hardly a fortnight since his untimely and suspicious demise, Emmanuel Mayanja aka AK47 has a trending song on the airwaves. Well, there is Ndi Mulokole, his fresh-off-the-decks gospel single finished just before his death on March 16, but the AK47 song that has people talking is the one done by his brother Joseph Mayanja (Chameleone).
Done in Kiswahili, Luganda and some English, RIP AK47 is a gripping tribute that arose from the older Mayanja’s grief.
And like every musical thing Chameleone touches, this promises to be gold too. Meanwhile, AK47’s other brother, Pallaso, is also working on a tribute song called Mubambazanga, dropping soon.
Zari baking Diamond’s bun
Zarinah Hassan Tlale, or call her socialite Zari, has Tanzanian tongues wagging. She basically swooped into the country last year, saw their chart-topping singer, Diamond Platinum, and immediately conquered.
Never mind that Diamond was seeing an equally- flamboyant Tanzanian socialite then… Yeah, something about Ugandan girls, Star Trail reckons!
The beauty formerly attached to the moneyed South Africa-based businessman Ivan Ssemwanga, is now several months pregnant with her fourth child, this time for Diamond. She has three sons with Ssemwanga.
Zari posted a pink baby romper on her Facebook wall, announcing they were expecting a girl. And now she has been reported as also saying that her former boo is “nothing in bed”. Ouch! Poor Ssemwanga he must be having smoke billowing out through his ears.
