Goodlyfe duo Mowzey Radio and Weasel over the weekend mesmerised Mbarara town in their Neera concert, as part of their Western region tour.
Agip motel gates opened as early as 6:30pm as wild revellers booked front seats. The show kicked off at around 11pm with the region’s big artistes including Meva Gatoto and General Geon, followed by Salute singer, Mary Bata, who came on stage visibly drunk.
She sang only two songs, Disappointment and her current hit Salute before her inebriated state rendered her useless she was slurring her words. This prompted fans to shout to the organizer who removed her from the stage.
Radio and Weasel came on stage at around 1:15am – thank goodness there are no curfews in Mbarara – with Mugati Gwa Butter that captivated revellers and others seemed to run a bit crazy with the nonstop music. The show ended at 2:40am with Neera, yet revellers were still asking for more.
Aisha Nagudi is the face of Lauma
Aisha Nagudi has taken part in so many beauty pageants, Star Trail loses count. She was among the top three at Miss Tourism 2014. She has also represented Uganda at different international pageants. Early this month, she added another gig on her CV she is the face of Lauma Lingerie.
The international lingerie franchise opened it doors to the Uganda market on Saturday with a store at Oasis mall.
Jaylor Birungi joins Wavah FM
Just months after joining WBS TV as the presenter for Show Time Extra replacing Jackline Katusiime, Jaylor Birungi has gone on to take up a slot at the Wavah FM. She will be hosting the midmorning show at the Naguru-based station. Business mogul, Gordon Wavamunno, owns the FM and TV stations.
Birungi was a finalist in the Miss Uganda 201314 pageant.
AK47 may not be seeing eye-to-eye with his brothers, Jose Chameleone and Weasel over various issues, but the Mayanja family has a genuine reason to celebrate. AK47 is a delighted man after his UK-based girlfriend gave birth to a set of twins.
AK47 quickly took to his Facebook account posting pictures of the twins. Well, Mzee Mayanja has a lot of trouble with his singing sons, but one thing he cannot fault them on is their dedication to expanding his Ngabi clan!
Meanwhile, AK47’s other singing brother, Pallaso, is enjoying drama of his own. His American wife, Nicole Hayman, who has been in the country, decided she had enough and packed her bags and left. Word on the grapevine is she has not been okay with how close Pallaso seems to be to Sheebah, with the pair often spending nights together after gigs.
They have a couple of successful collabos currently trending in nightclubs. Pallaso, known to love his share of drama, did not waste the opportunity and went to Facebook to whine about his “heartbreak”.
Akello Patricia joins SA Fusion Models
One of the faces of Uganda’s runway, Patricia Akello, has been signed by South African modelling agency, Fusion Models. She was part of the models that modelled Joseacute Hendo’s collection at the recent Kampala Fashion Week. That was her last job here before she relocated to Cape Town.
Now Joram Muzira of Joram Model Management, her local agency, is already searching for tall and very dark-skinned girls. He announced the online casting on his Facebook wall, emphasising that the model should be very lean and very dark: “The darker the better”.
He is also the guy who was working with Stacie Aamito before she took part and won the first edition of Africa’s Next Top Model. Looks like Muzira now knows black gold when he sees some.
