Star Trail – Eddy Kenzo’s Year

A breakthrough can come from the strangest of corners, and Eddy Kenzo must be in total agreement.

His hit song, Sitya Loss, indeed, has one of the best videos in terms of choreography and it is fast proving to be Kenzo’s goose that is laying golden eggs. The video features children from the slums pulling strokes that would make renowned choreographer Nigel Lythgoe look in awe.

On the other hand, the song’s lyrics are not the smartest, especially now that the video has gone viral on YouTube and the dance moves are being replicated and polished by different groups, individuals and Zumba instructors in a manner similar to what happened to Psy’s Gangnam Style. It is also reportedly getting amazing airplay in Europe and America, coming tops on iTunes as well.

Some have gone a step ahead and sought translation for the song to play along with the YouTube remixes, and Star Trail can only say, ouch!

But well done, Kenzo. This is your year.

The Stamina star is currently in the USA with the children whose fortunes have since turned around. Kenzo is even scheduled to make an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres talk show, after major names such as rapper P Diddy loved the video and even posted it on his Facebook wall.

Sitya Loss is currently the most viewed Ugandan video on YouTube with more than four million hits. Well, go Kenzo! Get the most out of this goose before it drops dead.

Kalimire the new church ‘Mutebile’

Democratic Party die-hard and World Food Programme (WFP)’s Vincent Kiwanuka Kalimire is the new treasurer of St Jude Catholic sub-parish, Nabbingo.

He was officially unveiled on Sunday at the church and he immediately posted on his Facebook wall: “It is official I am the new treasurer for St Jude Catholic sub-parish Nabbingo.”

Well, his appointment comes at a time when thieves are targeting church coffers so, his work is cut out. Still, congratters, Vince!

Iryn cancels video launch

Iryn Namubiru has cancelled the premiere of her three new music videos following the death of her close friend Julianna Kanyomozi’s son, Keron, on Sunday. Iryn was due to unveil her videos at Silk Lounge today, but cancelled out of respect.

“Dear friends, fans, you have all heard about our sister, friend, colleague and idol’s loss… I, therefore, call off the premiering of my three videos which was originally scheduled for Tuesday.” Well done, Iryn.

And from Star Trail, may God give you strength through this, Julianna, and rest in peace, Keron.

Luyiga sour-graping?

After naming his daughter Jennifer, everyone thought things were going to be better for councillor Bernard Luyiga. After all, wasn’t the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) boss another Jennifer [Musisi]?

But then last week he was locked out of a confidential budget meeting. He was caught asking himself on Facebook, why he was locked out of a meeting. Luyiga, formerly an outspoken Democratic Party (DP) stalwart, infamously switched allegiance and played a prominent role in the ousting of fellow DP member, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, from office last year.

Lukwago was reinstalled by court, and now it seems it is Luyiga looking in from the outside! Luyiga has since tried to worm his way back into Lukwago’s camp, but the mayor has repelled him. His angry expressions received no sympathy from his Facebook followers who only bashed him for being disloyal. This farming world… !

My children ooze good luck – Zuena

Last Saturday Bebe Cool’s children Beatta and Thierry Alpha ushered the Uganda Cranes players onto the pitch when Uganda played against Mauritania. The game ended with Uganda winning 2-0.

Immediately Zuena posted on her Instagram that Uganda won because of her children’s good luck.

Alpha had just returned from San Sebastian, Spain where he had gone to play football and that team also performed wonderfully. He went with other players from Kololo football academy. Maybe the kids have all the luck…

MP Mariam’s new car

Stunning Butambala Woman MP Mariam Nalubega never ceases to amuse her electorate. She is at least one of the MPs putting the recently-bought iPads by government to good use. The honourable just loves posting her pictures to social media!

She is beautiful, so Star Trail is not complaining. Nalubega recently bought a new car and posted the photos with different poses with the caption: “How is it?”

Hmm, she must be missing the good old days when one posed for a photo with one’s arm twisted at weird angles, to show off a new watch.
