Serunkuma switches Gor for Simba


Striker Daniel Serunkuma completed his move to Tanzanian giants Simba from Kenyan champion Gor Mahia over the weekend.

“I am happy we have drafted in Sseruare. We have been in talks with him for nearly a week. We need a player of his caliber to revive our hopes for the league title,” Simba coach Patrick Phiri is quoted having told The Citizen newspaper.

The former Express and Victors forward scored 41 league goals for Gor in three seasons and also finished as top scorer with 16 goals in the 2014 Kenyan premier League (KPL).

Serunkuma, also named 2012 KPL player of the year is believed to have signed a two year contract with the club joining Emma Okwi and defender Joseph Owino the two other Ugandan players on the team.

Simba who last won the title two seasons ago are currently seventh on the 14 team log having drawn six and won once after seven games.
