KAMPAL- A security guard, who fired bullets at seven people in the city bar instantly killing one person, was on Thursday sentenced to 18-years and six months in jail.
The convict, Deogratious Ilukori, 24, appeared before High Court in plea bargaining session and pleaded guilty to murder of a one Johnson Rukundo alias Koma, who was bouncer at Top Pub.
When Justice Elizabeth Alvidza questioned Ilukori why he behaved in such a ruthless manner, he told court, his actions were provoked by anger.
“My lord, first of all I would like to apologize to the bereaved family and all those who were hurt by my actions. I had a disagreement with the deceased who started to beat me with the intention of disarming me,” Ilukori said.
