S4 Student killer arrested in Gulu town

Police in Gulu have arrested a security guard said to have shot and killed Isaac Ojok, 18, a S4 student of Keyo senior secondary school in Amuru district on Monday evening.The suspect, who is attached to Exposs Security Company Ltd Okello, was arrested from his hide out in Gulu town on Tuesday evening with the rifle that he allegedly used to kill the student.It is alleged that the suspect, who together with another colleague, still on the run were manning the Keyo school premises shot Ojok on the fateful day as he was going for evening preps at 8:00pm.Aswa regional police spokesperson, Mr Jimmy Patrick Okema, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, adding that they have detained him at Gulu central Police station where a murder case was filed and investigations are ongoing.“Our teams of investigators are on the ground understanding the circumstances under which the suspect shot at Ojok and upon that we shall commit him to the High court to answer the charges of murder,” Mr Okema said, adding that police is still hunting for the second suspect who is on the run.Students at the school have all been sent home following the destruction of school properties, protesting the death of their colleague.Mr Okema, added that Exposs Security Company Ltd, has committed and contributed Shs 4 million as burial expenses and condolences for the deceased.In March this year, a trigger happy UPDF soldier shot dead two people and injured three others in Opit Village in Lalogi Sub-County Gulu district. The suspect was in April this year given a jail term of 15 years in prison for murder by the Court Martial.
