Rwanda Boxers to Fight in Uganda

The Rwanda Boxing Federation will take its first step this year into competitive boxing this year with a friendly meet with Uganda’s Police on July 15.

Speaking to the media, RABA officials have said, twelve national boxers will travel to Uganda for a friendly competition to boost their skills in the sport.

“With or without the sponsorship, the federation will have to improvise because such events assist in gauging their performance. The boxers joined camp for preparations and the aim is to see that in the future Rwanda can win medals from different international competitions.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Sports and culture Protais Mitali said, the plight in the boxing federation should be handled by Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee, where the official boxing members should sit together and agree on organizing new elections, otherwise the ministry will not offer any assistance.
